KHYL FARRISON

Coach/Professor Khyl Farrison is the president and owner of NY United BJJ and Farrison Wrestling Academy. As a life-long resident of Hillburn, NY, Coach/Professor Farrison enjoyed a successful career at Suffern High School. He left his mark as an All-State athletics performer in three sports: baseball, football, and wrestling. Also, he was elected into the Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame for each of these three sports.

Coach/Professor Farrison excelled in the sport of wrestling and finished up his career with three Section 1 Championships. He became one of two athletes ever to win back-to-back Section 1 Most Outstanding Wrestling awards. During his time of wrestling, he placed 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in New York State and was inducted into the Section 1 Wrestling Hall of Fame.

In college at Long Island University, he enjoyed a successful Division 1 baseball career and was the captain of the LIU Blackbirds. While at the university, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Coaching and Conditioning. He has held several national certifications in Strength and Conditioning.

For 9 years, Coach/Professor Farrison spent as a Division 1 college strength and conditioning coach at universities like the University of Alabama, Birmingham, Yale University, Iona College, and Manhattanville College. He finished as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Seton Hall University for Men’s and Women’s basketball.

Currently, he works as a corrections officer with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department.

When he is not coaching and working, he enjoys spending time with his 3 children Braelyn, Logan, and Dakota. His favorite outdoor activities include hunting, fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, and skydiving.
